The Ripple Medium Gold Band by Emily Nixon – Studying the movement of water on the tide, Emily began by moulding a series of miniature wax forms, all undulating with rivulets and channels, these were to evolve into the collection titled ‘Ripple’. Each ring is thoughtfully finished with a tumbled, sea-worn character to reflect its ocean origins. This is a lifetime ring that would make a beautiful and individual alternative to a standard wedding band.

Constant experimentation, playfulness and development of ideas, alongside a mindfulness of the relationship each piece has with the wearer, drives Emily’s creative process and output. The dichotomy of the precious and the organic – special stones encircled by sea-worn fragments of gold – characterises so much of her inspiration. At the heart of Emily Nixon’s work remains the sculpture and tapestry of her early fine art practice.
